Because of years of medications and processed foods, we get to heal our skin, organs, gut, hormones, brain, and immune systems with supplements to assist, replenish, and repair.

Instructions:

  1. Please be thorough, patient, consistent with your supplements for best healing and results. Let them get into your body and do their work in time. Cells turn over in your body about every 30 days, so we need at least that much time (typically) to begin noticing any changes.

  2. Products are organized by the corresponding week of the course. There are 3 sections below with supplements & skincare for the corresponding Weeks. Scroll to the specific week you’re looking for today.

  3. Trust the process. Choose patience. Take it 1 week at a time. Resist skipping ahead to further lessons. It’s coming, but you don’t have to do it all today. You can rest easy. And give your body, your skin, time to adjust week to week.

All of these are products that I have personally taken/used and found invaluable to healing my skin (except for any “need specific” listed, that I thought wee important to include as helpful options). Most I still continue to take to this day because of what they do for my gut, digestion, and skin. 1. Leaky Gut Revive (click here)

WEEK 1

Directions: Take Leaky Gut Revive for 3-6 months minimum.

This is step 1 of gut repair! It’s foundational. There is typically never a skin issue without a related gut issue. It will be difficult to manage and heal your acne without a strong gut lining, because you need to be able to properly absorb the nutrients in the other products.

That’s why, before getting into skincare and other supplements, I want you to start with this. We’ll introduce products one week at a time to let your body and budget adjust.

After 3-6 months, see how you feel. This product can be continued if desired for general gut lining and digestive tract health. It also can be mixed in/added to the Elixir below or with any 8oz liquid or smoothie. I personally took this daily for about 1.5 years; now, as needed.

2. MINDBODYSKIN Hormonal Acne Support (click here)

Directions: Take 3 capsules of MINDBODYSKIN WITH a meal. This supplement combines many nutrients that women with hormonal acne are imbalanced in.

This product supports the skin/gut/brain connection. It’s incredible and was absolutely transformative for me. I continued taking it up until I got pregnant, and likely will resume after breastfeeding. Don’t skip it!

When I first started taking this, I noticed a difference in my skin (and digestion) in 3 weeks. I cried the happiest tears. Personally, I continue to drink this daily for 5+ years and it continues to provide essential nutrients for my digestion, general health, hair/nails, and clear skin maintenance. Take this if you have reason to suspect your liver is sluggish and/or if you are still having painful periods.

Directions: Take 2 capsules with a meal, up to 3x daily (up to 6 capsules daily).

Skincare

This is my personal protocol. I use everything below and go back and forth between the two brands. I’ve tried SOOO many products as I’m sure you have too, and these are my game changers.

Mix and match if you choose, or pick between Option 1 or Option 2 for the most straightforward approach.

Often with inflamed and reactive skin, less is more. If your skin is actively breaking out still, resist the temptation to add other products in. Let your body adjust for 3-6 months before trying other new products or adding things in later, one at a time.

Because these products are high quality, a little goes a long way. Each option should last you 3-4 months. What you normally get from the store are loaded with water, additives, chemicals, and are not as potent, therefore requiring you to use more. If you’re used to low-budget products, this will be a mindset shift, but it’s well worth it.

For those who need a lower budget, start with the products marked with a * and use both morning and evening - these are most essential.

  • evening lotion - when we have acne and oily skin, we tend to under-hydrate, but we actually need the extra hydration with all of the detoxing and acne-focused products we use

  • lip care - optional, but I love this and usually put it on when doing my makeup

  • morning cleanser - start gentle in the morning or after a makeup-free workout *

  • morning & evening eye gel - light and non-irritating for inflamed & acne prone skin

  • morning face lotion - light & refreshing to keep skin balanced *

  • spot treatment - use any time of day and/or as a weekly full face mask *

  • evening makeup remover - use a soft cotton washcloth with warm (not hot) water and move in very gentle circles to loosen makeup from the face

  • evening cleanser - this stuff is GOLD, it gets so much makeup off & lasts forever

  • evening deep clean - note: this is the lone arbonne product on the option 1 list, so it’s not on amazon. it’s my holy grail. 100/10 recommend. gets EVERY last bit of makeup off and leaves your skin/pores feeling so fresh and clean. pro tip- cut the pads in half before adding the liquid solution to double how long they last.

  • lip care - totally optional, but I love this for both lips & cuticles and use it daily and keep it in my purse

Makeup

Your skin absorbs what goes on it in 26 seconds, and that gets into your bloodstream, which affects your overall health, detox pathways, and what your body has to then process and purge. It’s important that the products you’re wearing on your face all day are clean and safe, including makeup, and not going against your skin healing efforts. This is equally as important with SPF - you only want products that contain natural sunscreen (zinc oxide and/or titanium oxide).

Again, I want to stress that I have reviewed so many brands in depth. Currently, nothing compares to these two. Only the best for you!

Here are my top recommendations:

WEEK 5

  • clearstem mineral spf 50 - with a sheer tint to soften, this is my go-to if I’m not really doing my makeup but just need a quick something with brows & lashes. I like this liquid formula but they also have a powder spf 30 if you prefer.

  • arbonne sheer skin tint - you can add more coverage by applying & letting dry in light layers (right now I use a combo of light & medium because I tan - easy to blend together or use just 1 shade and add bronzer for color). this is my daily base lately for everyday makeup.

  • arbonne concealer - amazing product, buildable and blendable coverage - I use fair/light combo for eye brightening and light (match your skin/makeup tone) for hiding blemishes. 

  • arbonne foundation - if you prefer more full coverage, also buildable - I use this more for full coverage makeup look & events.
